Wildflower Center

This morning, Maddie and I met Michelle and Erica at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Even though we've lived in South Austin for several years, this was the first time we'd been to the wildflower center. This morning's weather was nice and cool - perfect for spending someitme outside.

The girls had a fun time running around the paths, looking at flowers, water fountains and butterfiles. Maddie kept pointing at every plant and flower saying, "This?" and I'd tell her what is was. My Dad will be happy to hear that Maddie wasn't afraid of the plants this time. :-)

Accessorizing

Recently, Maddie has developed an affinity for wearing necklaces. She likes toy necklaces and especially Mommy's necklaces. I even let her wear one of my necklaces on a dinner date with us the other day. When I put a necklace on her, I love how she runs to the mirror to look at herself. I think it's cute and I look forward to sharing more accessories with her in the future.

Music Class

Eric has a few days off in between leaving his old job for his new job, so he was able to join Maddie and I on a playdate last Thursday.

We took Maddie back to Rolly Pollies to try out a music class. Once again, Maddie had a wonderful time. It was a packed class where kids sang songs, danced to music, played instruments and watched the music teacher play songs on her guitar. Very fun and interactive class.

Guitar's are cool!

Time at the Park with Daddy

Eric and I took Maddie to the park last weekend to burn some energy. She's becoming such an expert on the playground. She can climb stairs with a little help, slide while holding one of our hands, and climb through the tunnels all by herself. Such a big girl!

Playdate at a Baby Activity Center

Last week, Maddie and I met our friends Christy and Lauren at a baby activity center called Rolly Pollies. They offer classes like art, music and gym, all geared toward kids of different ages.

We tried out a gym class and had a blast. The babies ran all around the large gym area, trying out several differnt fitness activities and making new friends. I'm sure we'll take this class again soon.

Just another fun day with Maddie. How could her laugh not make my day?

Easter Goodness

For Easter weekend, we drove down to my parent's home in Laredo and had a wonderful time. Lots of great food and fun with Maddie. Maddie was showered with attention so she was a happy girl. My parents put up a swing which Maddie used several times a day and got to ride in a sweet Radio Flyer wagon around the neighborhood. Fun!

On Easter morning, we "hid" some eggs outside and helped Maddie collect them. She seemed to get the idea after a few finds. We all had a perfect Easter.

Thanks Mom and Dad! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
