More Easter Goodness 2011

This Easter, we visisted my parents in Laredo and had a blast. As always, my parents papmpered us with delicious home-cooked meals and gave Maddie and Carly lots of attention. Maddie hunted for Easter eggs and ate her first chocoloate bunny. She spent many hours playing outside, coloring and running around with Grandpa T and Grandnee. Carly got lots of cuddles and playtime from Grandpa T and Grandnee too.

We had a wonderful time and look forward to our next visit!

In the days leading up to Easter, Maddie and Carly have had lots of fun dyeing eggs with Erica and meeting the Easter bunny.

Maddie Rides Her Tricycle

Eric bought Maddie this tricycle for her 2nd birthday back in January. We've kept it inside to let Maddie grown into it a bit and learn to ride it.

This weekend, Maddie rode her bike outside on the sidewalk for the first time. She can now reach the pedals and and knows how to pedal forward and backwards. Now she just needs to learn how to steer a little better. Lots of fun!

Maddie loves giving Carly big hugs and Carly seems to like hugging too. Note that Maddie is holding onto Carly's hands to prevent her curls from being pulled.

Maddie Sings her ABCs

Maddie usually adds the "Now I know my ABCs . . . " ending to the song, but she was too excited to see herself on camera to finish. :-) She's 26 months in this video.

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

On Monday, Carly rolled over for the first time. Since then, she pretty much rolls over (and over) every time I put her on her back.

We no longer have a baby who will stay put on her blanket. Let the fun begin!

Carly's 4 Month Well-Check

Carly had her 4 month well-check appointment this week and things looked great. She's growing well and has hopefully developed some immunity to germs so she won't get sick as often. (Whew!)

Our only complaint to the doctor was about Carly's sleeping habit of waking every 2 hrs and screaming until she was fed. The doc encouraged us to start a "light" version of sleep training to help break Carly's bad habits since she no longer needs to eat so often. I'm happy to report that she's been sleeping 5-hr+ chunks almost every night. YAY!



Some of the fun things Carly is doing at 4 months old:

• Holds her head up
• Loves to sit up against pillows or in the bumbo
• Likes tummy time!
• Giggles and smiles all the time


• Loves bath time
• Can hold onto small toys and rattles


• Loves her burp cloth just like Maddie did
• Loves her paci


• Her cry has changed from a newborn cry to a loud bird-like squawk
• Eats really fast
