Maddie's First BBQ

On Sunday, Maddie attended her very first BBQ. Although she missed an afternoon nap, she was still very charming and even smiled at several people. She's our little social butterfly!

Grasping Toys

Today, Madelyn received a package from Granee' and Grampa Ramirez with two beautiful toys. One of the toys is a miniature pinata which shakes when you pull a plastic ring. She held tightly to the plastic ring and seemed to love her new toy! For the first time, Maddie gripped a toy by herself!

It was getting close to nap time, so Maddie wasn't in the mood to pose for Mommie but she did yawn for the camera. :-)

Two Month Check-Up

Today was Maddie's 2-month check-up and her first shots. Maddie was given a clean bill of health, while Mommy and Daddy were given peace of mind from getting all our questions answered by Maddie's pediatrician.

At this stage, Maddie is long and lean but still on track and growing nicely.

Two Month Stats:
Weight - 10.4 LBs (25%)
Height - 23 in (75%)
Head - 39 cm (50%)

Doctor appointments are exhausting!

Town Lake Walk with Mommie's Group

Every Tuesday, Maddie and I meet other Mommies and their babies for a walk, movie or some other fun activity. It's so great to create memories and friendships with Maddie.

Yesterday, we went for a nice walk on Town Lake. I think Maddie enjoyed it!

8 Weeks Old and in a good mood!

One of Maddie's favorite places is the changing table. She smiles and gets so excitied every time we put her on it. Below is a link to a little video of her "chatting" with me. :-)

Maddie's First trip to Hula Hut

We took Eric's parents to Hula Hut last week for a yummy dinner. I think Maddie enjoyed it - even though she slept the whole time.

Big Girl Diapers

A few days ago, Maddie graduated from newborn to size 1 diapers. The size 1 diapers look more like shorts because they're a bit too big for her right now. But, at the rate she's growing, I'm sure they'll fit just fine very soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today, Eric and I ventured out with Maddie for the second time since her birth. We went to Red Robin in the early afternoon to have a late lunch/early dinner and celebrate Valentine's Day. Today is also the 5-yr anniversary of Eric's and my first date. (Yes, we had our first date on Valentine's Day in 2004.)

Maddie slept through the entire dinner, which made the meal nice and enjoyable for Mom and Dad.

Smiling at 5 Weeks!

Although Maddie smiles and laughs often in her sleep, we didn't expect her to smile at us so early. She first smiled at Eric during her 1 month wellness checkup when he kissed both of her cheeks over and over.

I tried Eric's tactic myself and was finally able to capture her smiling a few days later.

She's already melting our hearts!

Play Time!

Even though Maddie is just 5 weeks old, I put her on her playmat at least once every day. She really seems to enjoy all the sights and sounds, waving her arms and legs with glee.
