Trip to the Park

This moring, I took both girls to the park by myself for the first time. No big deal for most Moms but for me, it was a big deal. Our visit went wonderfully. Carly and I watched Maddie play for a while and then sat down on a picnic planket so Carly could move around. We sat close enough to the playscape so Maddie just kept on sliding and climbing.

I think both girls had a fun time.

Family & High-Fives

Recently, the concept of family and friends has become really important to Maddie. She loves when all four of us go somewhere together and even prefers it that way. When I tell her that we're going to go somewhere or do something, she asks, "Mommy go and Daddy go and baby go and Maddie go?" When I confirm that we're all going, she says, "I'm so happy we a family! Mommy, Daddy, Baby and Maddie!"

Also, Maddie loves to high-five but she says, "High my five!" I think it's hilarious!

Belated Father's Day Post

The last week has been busier than usual, so I've gotten behind on my blog posts.

We had a wonderful Father's Day weekend with Eric and got to spend lots of quality time with the girls. We ate out, made a little BBQ, and took the girls swimming.

Thanks for being such a special Daddy, Eric. We love you!

Donuts With Daddy

Today, Maddie's preschool hosted a pre-Father's Day breakfast for the Dads. Eric took Maddie to school and ate donuts with her. I tagged along to take some pictures. It was very cute. Maddie kept saying, "I'm having a picnic with Daddy!"

Sisters Playing

Maddie and Carly are starting to play more and more together. I brought out a little tent that we used for Maddie's 1st birthday party for the girls to play in. They had a blast.

Carly turns 7 months old

My baby gets bigger and more independent every day. Carly turned 7 months old yesterday but sometimes I think she's older. She's crawling, sitting up, pulling up and has started to stand up more with us holding her hands. She's also "talking" more now and I swear, she's saying a version of Momma.

She hates diaper changes as they interrupt her playtime, likes hanging out with Maddie and is exploring everything. She's still eating solid foods like a champ

We've also taken her swimming a couple of times and, like Maddie, she LOVES water. I can't wait to see what other interests she develops in the coming months.

Saturday storytime with Daddy

We took Maddie and Carly to storytime today to have a playdate with Daddy out of the heat. Maddie enjoyed herself but Carly decided to snooze.

Cousin Ava Visits

Cousin Ava and Aunt Rae visited us for several days. Maddie and Ava played and laughed and screamed and ran all over the house every day. They were even kind enough to let Carly play with them too. It's been stifling hot in Austin lately so we did some swimming and visited Rolly Pollies kid gym too.

Thanks for filling the house with laughter. We can't wait to see you again!
