Working 9 to 5

Today was my first day back at work after spending three glorious months at home with Maddie. Thankfully, my company allows me to bring Maddie to work with me until she's about 6 months old. So, I've appointed Maddie my Jr. Project Manager and part of my support team.

Maddie started out today by having a poop blow-out on the way to work. I explained to her that this wasn't really part of her job description. Somehow, I don't think she was listening.

Still, Maddie made up for her early morning mess by smiling and cooing at several of my co-workers. She's quite the friendly little girl.

3-Month Old Milestones

Maddie will be 12 weeks old on Sunday 3/29 and 3 months old a few days after that. A few changes Eric and I have noticed in her are:

(1) She has learned to grasp her burp cloth in her hand and bring it to her mouth.
(2) During tummy time, Maddie scoots her knees up in a pre-crawl position. She can hold her head up pretty well but still complains during tummy time and hasn't done a "push-up" yet.
(3) She is much more curious about her surroundings and will look around and study people and things more.
(4) On Tuesday during our mommy/baby yoga class, Maddie cooed at another baby during circle time. It was so exciting for me to see her interact with other babies.

It's so amazing to see these changes in her.

Eleven Weeks Old

Today Maddie is eleven weeks old. It's amazing how fast time has gone by and how much she's grown!!

After breakfast, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and visited a park. Some day Maddie will get to play on the playground. For now, we just took some family photos.

Big Girl Bed

Last night, Maddie slept in her crib in her own room for the first time. Although Mommy and Daddy were a bit nervous about this transition, Maddie did very well. She slept a solid six and a half hrs before waking to feed.

Blue Eyed Girl?

Ever since Maddie was born, we've wondered what her eye color would end up being. She was born with deep blue/gray eyes and they're still that color. Mommy's eyes are brown and Daddy's are green so who knows what Maddie's final eye color will be.

Happiest Place on Earth

Ok, so we didn't take Maddie to Disney Land but her changing table is still the happiest place on earth for her these days. We get the most smiles, coos and arm flapping when she's on the changing table. So, I'm going to keep taking pictures of her on it until another location becomes as entertaining for her.

Yoga, Yoga!

Today, Maddie and I went to a Mommy & Baby yoga class with my Mommie's group. The class was filled with over twenty babies ranging from 5 weeks to 6 months old. We did yoga moves and little dances which incorporated the babies and gave the mommies quite a workout. Maddie and I had such a fun time!

Maddie's First BBQ

On Sunday, Maddie attended her very first BBQ. Although she missed an afternoon nap, she was still very charming and even smiled at several people. She's our little social butterfly!

Grasping Toys

Today, Madelyn received a package from Granee' and Grampa Ramirez with two beautiful toys. One of the toys is a miniature pinata which shakes when you pull a plastic ring. She held tightly to the plastic ring and seemed to love her new toy! For the first time, Maddie gripped a toy by herself!

It was getting close to nap time, so Maddie wasn't in the mood to pose for Mommie but she did yawn for the camera. :-)

Two Month Check-Up

Today was Maddie's 2-month check-up and her first shots. Maddie was given a clean bill of health, while Mommy and Daddy were given peace of mind from getting all our questions answered by Maddie's pediatrician.

At this stage, Maddie is long and lean but still on track and growing nicely.

Two Month Stats:
Weight - 10.4 LBs (25%)
Height - 23 in (75%)
Head - 39 cm (50%)

Doctor appointments are exhausting!

Town Lake Walk with Mommie's Group

Every Tuesday, Maddie and I meet other Mommies and their babies for a walk, movie or some other fun activity. It's so great to create memories and friendships with Maddie.

Yesterday, we went for a nice walk on Town Lake. I think Maddie enjoyed it!

8 Weeks Old and in a good mood!

One of Maddie's favorite places is the changing table. She smiles and gets so excitied every time we put her on it. Below is a link to a little video of her "chatting" with me. :-)
